I'm such a staunch supporter of the Western Digital HD Media Player (WDTV) that I'm creating a mailing list for owners of the HD Media Player. I'm doing this not only to notify owners of a new firmware update or new features, but also to build a large, collective voice for the consumer in order to hold a little more weight in certain issues when dealing with Western Digital (feature requests, bugs, concerns, etc.).
I figure Western Digital is more likely to be influenced by a large number of consumers, rather than just one person saying something on his own. If you join this mailing list, I will only send you e-mails about feature additions or important news regarding the Western Digital HD Media Player. I promise, I WON'T SPAM YOU! We already have a sizable group, and this would be a great way to make it even larger.
We have already made some feature requests, and having more owners be a part of the group making those requests would only amplify the need/desire to our friends at Western Digital.
In order to join, just fill out the quick form below, and you will receive an e-mail confirmation. I hope you join! |

I've been saying for a long time that Windows is not secure, for various reasons. Well, for those of you still using Windows, here is an eye-opening interview with a former adware programmer (you know, those annoying little programs that you never asked to install and cause you to spend precious money and operating system resources on). |

These days science is always coming up with new and exciting things. Well, technically, science has always been doing that. But lately it seems that we're now dipping our curious fingers into worlds that were previously unknown. Nanotechnology, quantum physics, theoretical physics, nuclear physics, biotechnology, quantum computing, neuroscience, and more. But let me focus on something that has recently come to my attention: memory loss.
Now, memory loss isn't anything new. It can happen as a result of physical trauma, after-effect of anesthesia, or even a side-effect of a simple medication. But what I'm talking about is intentional memory loss.
There's a drug currently on the market called |

The Western Digital HD Media Player is a media player that basically connects to your TV and plays digital media. I have to write about this player, because it is one of those bang-for-your-buck gadgets that is almost too good to be true.
Western Digital is a relative newcomer to the media player scene. Considering the price of the HD Media Player ($99.99 at Best Buy, as of 09 Feb 2009), it seems that Western Digital was aiming for a low-cost device to play media on your TV. However, the HD Media Player is definitely not low on features or usability. Even at this price, the HD Media Player supports up to 1080p high-definition video over HDMI.

I was trying to run a little "benchmark" today, so to speak, to give me a better idea as to which language I should choose for a project I'm planning on starting soon.
I'm going to have to iterate over large arrays for this project, so I decided to give it a go at seeing the difference in performance when it came to inserting numerous objects into an array, and then transferring those objects one-by-one to a string. Here's the code I used: |
